Koreans in Japan Demand Introduction of Tuition Waiver Program for Korean Schools in Japan
Tokyo, December 12 (KNS-KCNA) -- There held a demo demanding the introduction of the tuition waiver program for the Korean schools in Japan before the building of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan in Tokyo on Dec. 11.

Participants in the demo included officials of the General Association of the Korean Residents in Japan, teaching staff and students of the Korean University and Korean high schools, parents of the students, Koreans in Japan, a representative of the liaison society against the exclusion of the Korean schools from the program and other figures of the Japanese public organizations.

They said it is a legitimate right of the Korean students to get national education, and the measure of the Japanese government is an open discrimination of the Koreans in Japan and an intolerable human rights abuse.

They demanded the Japanese authorities stop the discrimination policy and apply the program to the Korean schools.

They noted that all the Koreans in Japan including the students would fight for the settlement of the issue.
