Swiss Organizations Urge U.S. to Opt for Dialogue with DPRK for Concluding Peace Treaty
Pyongyang, December 10 (KCNA) -- The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea made public a joint statement on Dec. 4 rebuking the U.S. for shunning the conclusion of a peace treaty with the DPRK.

The statement said:

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in a statement on Dec. 2 again urged the U.S. to conclude a peace treaty.

The U.S. is persistently insisting that the DPRK should dismantle its nuclear weapons, to begin with, and unilaterally disarm itself, an unreasonable and unacceptable demand.

The U.S. is also talking volumes about the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and resumption of the six-party talks.

However, the two issues-- conclusion of a peace treaty and denuclearization-- should not be mixed with each other.

Only when the Armistice Agreement is replaced with a peace treaty and an end is put to the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK, can other problems be resolved.

The U.S. would be well advised to abandon its unreasonable stand, stop employing a sleight of hand and opt for dialogue with the DPRK for the conclusion of a peace treaty.
