Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Demise Observed in Myanmar, Nigeria
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- There took place remembrance events in Myanmar and Nigeria on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's demise.

The Yangon Regional Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar held a remembrance meeting, photo exhibition and film show, the Ministry of Rural Development of Zamfara State in Nigeria a book exhibition and a center in Nigeria a week of DPRK film show between Nov. 27 and Dec. 3.

Displayed at the venues of the events were photos dealing with the life and exploits of Kim Jong Il.

There were also books and photos introducing the achievements made by the army and people of the DRPK for building a thriving nation.

Tin Tin Moe, member of the Central Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar, said that Kim Jong Il, creditable successor to President Kim Il Sung's idea and cause, developed in depth the Juche idea, put the DPRK's national power on the highest level and developed the Korean People's Army into a matchless army.

Kim Jong Il passed away on a running train while making tireless journey for field guidance for building a thriving nation and people's happiness till the last moments of his life, he noted, adding:

Though he passed away, his revolutionary cause of Songun is being creditably carried forward without an inch of deflection.

At the events held in Nigeria speakers said that Kim Jong Il turned the DPRK into an independent power and brought about a radical turn in the building of a thriving nation.
