S. Korean Authorities Urged to Give up Concept of Confrontation
Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- The north and the south of Korea should boldly part from the past of distrust and confrontation and open a new history of the inter-Korean relations through dialogue and cooperation in conformity with the expectation and desire of the whole nation, Rodong Sinmun Sunday says in an article.

To give up the old concept of confrontation is a prerequisite for opening a new history of the north-south relations, the article notes, and goes on:

The one-sided viewpoint and stand on confrontation is the product of the treacherous way of thinking disregarding the destiny of the nation, and an important factor hindering the improvement of the north-south relations.

The tragic situation of the inter-Korean relations is not accidental but the inevitable result of the south Korean authorities' ill-intended inveterate repugnancy and hostility toward the ideology and system in the DPRK.

If the south Korean authorities give up the old concept of confrontation in a bold way and sincerely come out for improved north-south relations, the relations will radically develop and major problems for national reunification and co-prosperity of the nation will successfully be solved.

It is an important guarantee of writing a new history of the inter-Korean relations to turn the north-south dialogue into the constructive one for substantial successes with the proper attitude and stand on the dialogue.

Now is the time for the north and the south to put an end to the history of confrontation and pool their efforts and wisdom to open up a new era of reunification in conformity with the demand of the era and desire of the nation.

The south Korean authorities should face up to the trend of the times and aspiration of the nation and give up the concept of confrontation with the DPRK and come out for the dialogue between the authorities with sincere attitude and stand.
