Tha Win, member of the Central Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar and member of the parliament, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to set December as the remembrance month and organize political events such as a remembrance meeting, round-table talks, film show and photo exhibition during the period.
