KCTU Declares General Strike
Pyongyang, December 4 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) held a rally to declare an action for blocking the retrogressive revision of the labor law near the "National Assembly" on December 2, according to the south Korean paper Nodong and Segye.

Speakers at the rally said that the ruling and opposition parties agreed to railroad the bill on labor despite of the workers' persistent demand for the right to existence, stabbing them in their backs.

What remains to be done by the workers at present is to check the retrogressive revision of the labor law and bring down the present regime through the general strike, they declared.

They stressed the need to judge the conservative "NA" through struggle only, calling for staging the second all-out people's action and general strike without fail to turn the area before the "NA" into the plaza for workers' action in December.

A resolution was read out at the rally.

At the end of the rally representatives of KCTU went to the "NA" to lodge protest with it, but gentries of the ruling party refused to meet them.
