Kim Jong Un Sends Greetings to Lao President
Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, Wednesday sent a message of greeting to Choummaly Sayasone, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The message said:

I extend warm greetings to you and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), the fraternal and friendly Lao government and people on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

We feel satisfied with the development of the good friendly relations between the two parties and countries while joining you in greeting this day which is of weighty significance in the national history of your country.

All successes the Lao government and people have achieved over the last four decades, holding high the banner of self-reliance, self-development and patriotism, are the fruition of the correct lines and policies of the LPRP and its unerring leadership.

The friendly relations between our two countries are the traditional ones based on the deep historic roots which was provided and cultivated by the preceding leaders. It is the common obligation of the two parties, the governments of the two countries and their peoples to boost the relations.

I, availing myself of this opportunity, wish you good health and happiness, hoping that the Lao party and government and people will achieve bigger successes in the work for adhering to the socialist idea, consolidating the people's democratic system, achieving the economic development and improving the people's standard of living.
