The symposium heard papers introducing successes and experience gained in settling scientific and technical problems arising in production of seeds of greenhouse vegetables and their cultivation. There took place a workshop, distribution of sci-tech books, video-show. The participants visited several units.

"Technique for increasing per hectare yield of cucumber in hydroponic greenhouse," "Technique of rational water-saving style farming method in mud-walled plastic sheet greenhouses" and other papers were highly appreciated.

Present at the closing ceremony were Kwak Pom Gi, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, scientists, technicians and workers of greenhouse vegetable research institutes and production units from across the country.

Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and minister of Agriculture, made a closing address.
