Yonthan County, North Hwanghae Province is taking the lead in developing its industry. As a result, the county was awarded the title of Model County in Local Industry.

In recent years alone, the county has upgraded all its local industrial establishments, including foodstuff factory, daily necessities factory, paper mill and textile mill.

Over the past three years its gross industrial output value has increased by 1.3 times.

What is more praiseworthy is that the production of consumer goods entirely depends on locally available raw materials.

The Furniture Production Cooperative in the county, in particular, is producing with locally available materials a variety of furniture popular among inhabitants.

The county is also paying deep attention to the development of agriculture as well as its afforestation.
