L. Shukolinikov, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Workers' Party of Belarus and chairman of the Standing Presidium of the Belarus National Association of Friends of Korean People Named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising the noble revolutionary career and undying feats of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of his demise.
