Planting Ulmus Pumila Encouraged in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- It has been encouraged in the DPRK to plant Ulmus Pumila as part of the efforts to introduce the agro-forestry management on a wide scale.

Ulmus Pumila has been considered to be one of good species for agro-forestry management, said Kye Un Hui, a researcher of the Land and Environmental Conservation Exchange Company.

Ulmus Pumila has wide range of utility for its high economic value, she said, and continued:

It is strong in vitality with 98 percent of rooting rate and grows well even in the area at the height of 1 300 meters above sea level.

Sinphyong and Yonthan counties in North Hwanghae Province are taking much profit by encouraging the cultivation of Ulmus Pumila.
