S. Korean Regime Blasted for Suppressing Participants
Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- Kyunghyang Daily News of south Korea in an editorial on Sunday blasted the security authorities for brutally suppressing the participants who turned out in the all-out people's rally in Seoul last Saturday.

It said: Riot police set up barricades here and there and blocked roads leading to Kwanghwamun Plaza and indiscriminately fired tear liquid cannon at the participants. A farmer in his 60s was seriously wounded by tear liquid on his chest and face.

It is a human rights abuse to spread tear liquid at the masses.

But the police did not express any regret, the editorial noted, adding that the present regime is utterly impudent.

The editorial urged the "government" to apologize to the nation for the brutal suppression and punish those responsible.
