All-out Action against "State-compiled" Textbook Declared in South Korea
Pyongyang, November 12 (KCNA) -- The Teachers Union of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on Nov. 9 at which it declared an all-out action against the authorities' system for introducing "state-compiled" history textbook and unpopular education policy, according to the south Korean online paper Voice of People.

The speakers said the authorities' action of labeling anyone opposing "state-compiled" textbook a "foe" is reminiscent of the time of military dictatorship.

They deplored that the chief executive personally indicated the orientation of writing history and even the Ministry of Defence was involved in writing textbooks.

They cannot allow history textbook embellishing the pro-Japanese acts and dictatorship to be put on the desks of the schoolchildren, they noted.

They called for staging actions against the authorities' history coup in stronger unity.
