Part-Timers in South Korea Rally for Vital Rights
Pyongyang, November 12 (KCNA) -- The South Korean Female Workers Union held a rally in demand for a stop to the discrimination against the female part-timers at schools in Youido, Seoul on Nov. 7.

The speakers said 150,000 part-time workers at schools were subject to unreasonable discriminative treatment.

The part-time workers received wages much lower than those of full-timers and what was worse was that the former was not properly paid, they noted.

They demanded that measures be taken as early as possible for paying the part-time workers indiscriminative wages and ensuring stable employment.

Another rally was held by a branch of the Metal Workers Trade Union near Seoul Plaza on Nov. 6 in support for the part-timers' struggle.

The branch said it would fight it out to change the part-timers into full-timers, defying the suppression by power and capital.
