S. Korean Opposition Lawmakers Denounce Military for Interfering in Tampering with History
Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- South Korean opposition lawmakers denounced the military group for directly interfering in the moves to introduce "state-compiled history textbooks", according to the south Korean internet paper Newsis on November 6.

The south Korean minister of Defense on November 5 said before the lawmakers of the "National Assembly" that among the contents of the present textbooks there was a wrong description about the army as regards the April 3 incident and some mistakes were found in the descriptions about the June 25 war and the Vietnam war. He also disclosed that he is seeking cooperation so that the military authorities might join in writing history textbooks.

As regards this fact the supreme member of the Democratic Alliance for New Politics denounced on November 6 that "an emergency measure" can be taken against the forces opposing "state-compiled textbooks" in the future just as the "yusin regime" reacted to the dissident figures' demand for the revision of the "yusin constitution" by taking "emergency measures".

A spokesman for the Justice Party expressed astonishment at the military's attempt to write off its inglorious past by undisguisedly interfering in writing textbooks.
