DPRK's Proposal for Concluding Peace Treaty Supported by Nigerian Organization
Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- An article titled "Conclusion of peace treaty between DPRK and U.S. is urgent task for settling issue of Korean Peninsula" was posted by the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism on its website on Oct. 27.

The article said that the DPRK's proposal for concluding a peace treaty with the U.S. at an early date to defuse the danger of a war and create a peaceful climate on the Korean Peninsula is commanding positive support of the world peace-loving people.

It went on:

The DPRK has consistently proposed to replace the present Armistice Agreement (AA) with a peace treaty.

The crisis on the Korean Peninsula which reached the brink of a war in last August proved that the AA can no longer stem the collision and danger of a war and that the urgent task for creating a lasting peaceful climate in the region is just to conclude a peace treaty between the DPRK and the U.S.

The U.S. is driving the situation on the peninsula into an extreme pitch of tension, persistently seeking its hostile policy toward the DPRK.

All facts prove that the wisest way of settling the issue of the peninsula is to conclude a peace treaty between the DPRK and the U.S.

Peace on the peninsula cannot be ensured unless a peace treaty is concluded.

The U.S. should not insist on the DPRK's abandonment of nuclear program and kick off nuclear confrontation but respond to the DPRK's crucial proposal for replacing the AA with a peace treaty as soon as possible.
