S. Korean Regime Intensifies Crackdown on Actions against "State-compiled History Textbooks"
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The authorities of the south Korean Ministry of Education are busy unreasonably suppressing the Teachers Union which staged an action against "state-compiled history textbooks".

On Oct. 20, the union declared an all-out action to check the authorities' moves to introduce "state-compiled history textbooks".

On Oct. 23, it held a meeting of teachers' action to check the "state-compiled history textbooks", denouncing the authorities for their distortion of history.

Much upset by the action, the ministry issued an official notice to city and provincial educational offices across south Korea to find out teachers who had been blamed for absence, leaving earlier than usual and private tour.

Through such action the ministry is working hard to ferret out and punish teachers and those who took part in the meeting and allowed it.

On Oct. 29, the ministry made public that it would file complaint against the chairman of the union

The south Korean authorities' reckless crackdown to bring the history back to the past dictatorship is meeting with strong protest of people from all walks of life including the field of the education.
