Candlelight Meeting Held in S. Korea in Protest against "State-compiled History Textbooks"
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Members of the Association of Men of Culture and Arts Opposing Introduction of "State-compiled History Textbooks," the "Network for Checking Introduction of State-compiled History Textbooks," the Joint Council of Civic and Public Organizations and other civic and social organizations and opposition party in south Korea held a candlelight meeting in Seoul on Oct. 27.

They said that it is the ruling method of the dictatorial regime to govern the people through twisted history education.

The introduction of the "state-compiled history textbooks" was prompted by the wrong historical outlook of the chief executive and her wild ambition to revive "yusin" system, they charged.

They blamed the chief executive for putting under carpet the truth and proclaiming a martial law against people, being keen on embellishing pro-Japanese acts and "yusin".

They demanded the regime retract its plan without fail.
