The declaration was signed by 21 379 teachers of 3 904 schools including those under the Teachers Union (Jongyojo).

Jongyojo held a press conference in Seoul on Oct. 29 and published a declaration on the situation demanding the withdrawal of the "system of introducing state-compiled history textbooks".

The declaration said the above-said system is a violence of history and a proclamation of the second "yusin" as it is a history coup seeking the revival of "yusin".

It warned that if the regime pushes forward the system despite the people's opposition, it will face a judgment of history.
