Enjoying a bird's-eye view of the farm, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that it has turned into an eye-opening farm, another wealth conducive to the improvement of people's diet.

He showed a high appreciation of the mosaic ''The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il visiting the Pyongyang Catfish Farm'' and monument to the field guidance of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu newly built in the compound of the farm.

He went round the newly-built room for education in the revolutionary history and room dedicated to the history of the farm.

Noting that leader Kim Jong Il paid deep attention to the farm, he said that he felt numb when he recalled the leader who had worked heart and soul for the improvement of the people's living standard until the last moments of his life.

Then he toured the combined control room, hatchery, open-air pond and cold storage and other parts of the farm to learn in detail about its production of catfish and modernization.

Referring to the fact that the farm had a production capacity of more than 900 tons a year in the past but produced more than 1 800 tons of catfish this year, he said that it increased the fish production twice without expanding the area of fish pond, manpower and volume of water, true to the party's policy on the manpower- and water-saving style pisciculture.

And he said all production and living districts of the farm are impeccable, noting with pleasure that a base for disseminating science and technology and cultural and welfare establishments have been built well at the farm so that its employees can attach importance to science and technology and have deeper affection for their worksite.

He set forth the tasks facing the farm, stressing that it should set its goal higher as it has turned into a model and standard one in breeding catfish.

The Pyongyang Catfish Farm has made admirable achievement when world-startling big successes are reported one after another in the country this year, he said, giving thanks on behalf of the WPK to the officials, scientists, technicians and workers of the relevant field, farm and construction unit who worked feats in the production and project for modernization of the farm.
