The KBS headquarters of the south Korean Press Trade Union on October 22 made public a statement charging that the meeting of its board of directors took place with the attendance of those recommended by the "Saenuri Party" and only those subservient to power were nominated as candidates for president.

More than 10 media and civic organizations including the Press Trade Union and the Citizens Federation for Democratic Press held a press conference in Youido, Seoul on October 21.

Meanwhile, the director of the Citizens Federation for Democratic Press denounced the moves of "government" and the "Saenuri Party" to put media under control.

A caricature writer in his article said the present "government" is more shamelessly and openly trying to tame media organizations and such attempt is bound to fail.
