DPRK-China Friendship Cemented during Korean War
Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- 65 years has passed since the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) into the Korean front (October 25, 1950).

The DPRK-China friendship formed during the anti-Japanese war was further promoted in the period of the Korean War (1950-1953).

The U.S. imperialists provoked a war against the young DPRK on June 25, 1950. At that time, the Chinese party and government sent the volunteers to the Korean front under the banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland.

The CPV fighters together with the Korean People's Army (KPA) had defended the DPRK at the cost of their life, showing mass heroism to the full extent.

During the war, the CPV produced a number of well-known heroes and unsung heroes who dedicated their life to defending the DPRK. Among those heroes are Mao Anying, son of Chairman Mao Zedong, Huang Jiguang who blocked the enemy's gun muzzle with his breast and Yang Gensi who destroyed an enemy tank at the cost of life.

The Korean people assisted the CPV with all their sincerity in the self-sacrificing spirit. The DPRK people are still remembering Pak Jae Gun, a farmer who sheltered a wounded CPV soldier at the cost of his life, An Ok Hui who died a heroic death to rescue CPV soldiers and other well-known or unknown heroes.

The DPRK government and people built the Friendship Tower at the foot of Moran Hill in Pyongyang and cemeteries of the CPV fallen fighters in different parts of the country to hand down the militant fraternity between the DPRK and China to posterity.
