History Textbooks Embellishing "Yusin" Dictatorship under Fire
Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- South Korean CBS on Oct. 16 claimed that the system of introducing "state-compiled" history textbooks pushed forward by the authorities is aimed to embellish the "yusin" dictatorship.

The trial "state-compiled history textbooks" for the fifth grade pupils of some primary schools neither describe Park Chung-Hee's "yusin regime" as dictatorship even once nor mention pro-Japanese traitors, the broadcasting service disclosed, and went on:

The "prime minister" on Oct. 14 said even though the history textbooks for secondary and high school students are compiled by the state, they can be no textbooks praising "yusin".

However, the present textbooks reflect the beautification of the "yusin" dictatorship and pro-Japanese view on history.

The present "government" and the "Saenuri Party" assert that screened history textbooks are ideologically biased, but opposition will grow stronger to the "state-compiled textbooks" as they openly embellish the "yusin" system, the broadcasting service held.
