No Country Is So Shameless as Japan: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- Not long ago, China applied to the UNESCO for having facts about the Nanjing Massacre perpetrated by the Imperial Japanese Army registered as a world heritage.

The UNESCO carefully examined the application and decided to register them as a world heritage, concluding that they are in full line with the standard for assessment and examination.

Rodong Sinmun in a commentary Thursday observes in this regard:

It is a stark historical fact that the Imperial Japanese Army committed unheard-of crimes against humanity by cruelly killing people of Asian countries in the past.

It is ethics, morality, legal requirement and practice for a criminal to feel guilty and apologize for it.

However, Japan is still behaving quite contrary to them.

It is making far-fetched assertions that there is no experts' verification of whether the facts on the massacre are true or not.

What is stunning is that it is challenging the UNESCO with a threat to cut down its contribution, grumbling that the organization does favor only for China, though Japan is "cooperating" with it through huge financial contribution.

There are not a few countries and nations in the world which committed wrongs but no country is as imprudent as Japan.

Japan is sadly mistaken. With no far-fetched assertion can it write off historical facts.

Japan would be well advised to bear this in mind and admit its crimes and opt for redressing them, though belatedly.
