WHO Southeast Asia Regional Workshop on Traditional Medicine Held
Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- The WHO Southeast Asia Regional Workshop on Traditional Medicine took place here on Oct. 20 and 21.

Present there were Kang Ha Guk, minister of Public Health, officials in the public health field, Poonam Khetrapal Singh, director of the Regional Office for Southeast Asia of the WHO, Representative Stephan Paul Jost and members of the WHO in the DPRK and delegations of Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and other countries.

Presented at the workshop were successes and experience gained by countries in Southeast Asia in developing traditional medicine.

Speakers underlined the need to integrate traditional medicine into the state healthcare system and combine education in traditional medicine with education in modern medicine.

They also stressed the need for regional countries to positively conduct the work for integrating traditional medicine into the state healthcare system.
