The general printing plant was founded on Oct. 20, Juche 34 (1945) as a leading printing industry of the nation.

President Kim Il Sung unrolled a blueprint for building of a new modern printing plant, personally chose the site for the plant and visited it several times, clearly indicating tasks and ways for building the Juche-oriented printing industry.

Leader Kim Jong Il fixed Oct. 20, 1945, the day it printed the first portrait of the President, as the foundation day of the plant.

The plant has fulfilled its revolutionary duty by recording a proud history of its development with loyalty and feats under the leadership and meticulous care of the peerlessly great persons since its foundation.
