Memorial Service for Korean Victims of Forcible Drafting Held in Japan
Tokyo, October 18 (KNS-KCNA) -- A memorial service for the Korean victims of forcible drafting by the Japanese imperialists took place in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan on Oct. 10.

Present there were Choe Jo Ung, chairman of the Tochigi Prefectural Headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Koreans in Japan, Kaneda Sadao, vice-chairman of the Tochigi Prefectural People's Council for Japan-DPRK Friendship, and Japanese citizens.

Speakers at the meeting charged that Japan has been busy becoming a country capable of fighting a war for the past 70 years since the end of the Second World War.

Moves to put under the carpet the historical truth behind the forcible drafting of Koreans by the Japanese imperialists have been witnessed across Japan, they said.

Despite such moves, a memorial monument to the Korean victims of the forcible drafting has been erected, they noted, adding they would further their activities to demand Japan's redemption of the past, not forgetting the crime-woven history of the Japanese imperialists.
