The organizations in a joint statement on October 12 said that in Juche 106 (2017) they will celebrate the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, the 75th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il and the fifth anniversary of Marshal Kim Jong Un's election as supreme leader of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK.

The statement went on:

It is the steadfast will of all friends of Korea and progressives in the world to highly praise the undying exploits of the great men of Mt. Paektu who provided the Korean people with freedom, independence and happiness.

The appeal called for forming preparatory committees for celebrating the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star in 2017 in regions and countries from next year and widely launching diverse activities in praise of the great men of Mt. Paektu. It also called for conducting colorful activities for friendship and cultural exchange and steadily developing the relations of friendship and cooperation with the DPRK, fully supporting the Korean people in their drive for building a thriving nation and holding a grand international meeting in praise of the great men of Mt. Paektu and revving up the festive mood in the significant 2017.

We fully support the appeal made public at the preparatory meeting for the 2017 Meeting in Praise of Great Men of Mt. Paektu.

We will organize preparatory committees and celebrate the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star with splendor.

We will stage multifarious activities to widely introduce the brilliant exploits of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un among the Swiss people and make them fully support the just struggle of the Korean people for reunification of the country.
