U.S. Urged to Opt for Negotiations for Peace on Korean Peninsula
Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- At least 40 organizations of south Korea including the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, Confederation of Trade Unions, Solidarity for Progress held a press conference in Seoul on Oct. 13 demanding the U.S. opt for negotiations for the peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The organizations denounced south Korea and the U.S. for having enforced the policy of pressurizing the north while working hard to force it to dismantle its nukes first.

If the U.S. truly wants the denuclearization of the peninsula, there is no reason for it to shun dialogue for concluding a peace treaty, they said, adding it should make a bold decision for having negotiations for signing a peace treaty.
