S. Korean Organization Opens to Public Japanese Map Marking Tok Islet as Part of Korea's Territory
Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- A representative of the Forum for Studying Tok Islet in south Korea at a meeting held under the sponsorship of the Association for Studying and Preserving Tok Islet on Oct. 8 opened to public map on which Japan marked Tok Islet as part of Korea's territory early in the 1950s.

In 1951 the Coast Guard Agency of Japan submitted to the Diet "a map to be used as a reference to Japan's territory" on which half a circle was drawn on the right side of Tok Islet apart from the boundary line between the Korean Peninsula and Japan to denote that the islet belonged to Korea.

In May 1952, a major newspaper of Japan produced and distributed the "map of Japan's territory", another map marking the islet as part of Korea's territory.

The representative of the forum stressed that the then Japanese government and the Diet recognized the islet as part of Korea's territory.
