Swiss Bodies Support Statement of DPRK FM Spokesman
Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- It is the steadfast stand of the DPRK to replace the Armistice Agreement (AA) with a peace treaty.

The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said this in a joint statement on Oct. 7 in support of the statement of a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry.

The joint statement said:

The DPRK is working hard to ensure durable peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Peace has not been ensured on the peninsula though over 60 years have passed since the end of the Korean war.

The U.S. has staged military drills under different codenames in a bid to provoke a new war of aggression against the DPRK.

It introduced nuclear weapons into south Korea in violation of the AA.

The tense situation on the peninsula in August last proved that a war may break out any moment as long as the AA exists.

We fully support the statement of the spokesman for the DPRK FM which calls for concluding a peace treaty.

The conclusion of the peace treaty alone can ensure durable peace on the Korean Peninsula.
