Emblem of WPK Associated with Efforts of Great Leader
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- A three-person group sculpture representing worker, peasant and intellectual stands in front of the Tower of the Juche Idea on the bank of the Taedong River flowing through Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Hammer, sickle and brush, held by each person of the sculpture in their hands, symbolize the emblem of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Seeing the sculpture, the Korean people now recall the feats performed by President Kim Il Sung to institute the WPK emblem.

When a work was going on to design the emblem of the WPK, Kim Il Sung suggested that it should be designed in such a way as to show the WPK is a unified party of the working masses.

And examining its draft design, he set the order of hammer, sickle and brush, personally drawing a design of the WPK emblem.

Under his energetic and meticulous guidance, the peculiar emblem of the WPK came into being, vividly representing the character and noble mission of the Party.
