DPRK Pays Deep Attention to Training Reserve Sportspersons
Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea showed good results in recent international juvenile sports tournaments as it has directed big efforts to training reserve sportspersons.

The DPRK has a large number of juvenile sports schools in cities and counties, which major in football, basketball, volleyball, table-tennis and other events.

Such schools for training reserve persons are also operated at Kim Il Sung Stadium, Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and other stadiums and gymnasiums across the country while sports groups are run at schoolchildren's palaces and halls. And many sports teams have their own bases of producing reserve athletes.

Meanwhile, regional or national sports contests are held on a regular basis in the country every year, with the participation of those from juvenile sports schools and groups.

Thanks to this system of training reserve sportspersons, the country has proven successful in many international games.
