S. Korean Chief Executive's Anti-DPRK Remarks at UN Assailed
Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- The south Korean chief executive in a "keynote address" at the 70th UN General Assembly shortly ago groundlessly took issue with the DPRK again.

She said the "north's nuclear weapons are a top priority task for building a world without nuclear weapons" and even talked about "additional provocation," claiming it "hamstrings the efforts for the resumption of dialogue." She even cried out for "reform and opening."

Rodong Sinmun Friday in a commentary says what she uttered reveals a foolish trick to build up public opinion critical of the DPRK and elicit international pressure for isolating and stifling it at any cost.

The U.S. and the south Korean authorities are harassers of peace and nuclear war maniacs as they have persistently stood in the way of settling the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula and improving the north-south relations and escalated tension by posing constant nuclear threats to the DPRK, the commentary notes, and goes on:

We do not hide that we are bolstering up the nuclear deterrence for self-defence to firmly defend peace of the country and the destiny of the nation from the U.S. moves for a nuclear war against the DPRK.

The status of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state will remain unchanged no matter what others may say.

It is foolhardy for the south Korean authorities to try to get something by kowtowing to outsiders.

They should stop going reckless, seriously pondering over the serious consequences to be entailed by their act of pushing the situation to a catastrophe again by acting as a puppet of the U.S.
