In an article titled "70 year-long history of Workers' Party of Korea" the general secretary said:

The WPK was founded by President Kim Il Sung on October 10, 1945.

It has made shining achievements startling the world for the past seven decades and the service personnel and people of the DPRK firmly defended the socialist cause, united close around leader Kim Jong Il and the WPK even at a time when socialism collapsed in different countries at the end of the last century.

It would be unthinkable apart from the leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il that the WPK led the army and people to victory while weathering out the ordeals of history and resolutely foiling the U.S. aggression moves.

Our party pays high tribute to the WPK which has created the history of victory and miracles for the past 70 years, expressing belief that the Korean people would achieve the reunification of the country and the cause of building a thriving nation under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Our party will as ever extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their just cause.
