Release of Prisoners of Conscience Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- Family members of the victims of the case of attempted rebellion and those related to the Unified Progressive Party and other people of different circles of south Korea held a meeting in front of the Suwon detention house in Kyonggi Province on September 29 in demand of the release of the imprisoned victims, according to the south Korean internet paper Voice of People.

Speakers said that the conservative forces are labeling those helping the victims as "forces following the north."

Innocent people died in prison and many prisoners of conscience are still in prisons across south Korea, they noted.

Similar actions took place before the detention houses in Taegu, Kwangju, Jonju of North Jolla Province, Anyang of Kyonggi Province and other parts of south Korea on the same day.
