Attending it were more than 300 firms from 16 countries and one region, including the DPRK, New Zealand, Germany, Romania, Russia and Malaysia.

Presented to the fair were electronic, machine, metal, building, medical and light industrial products, foodstuffs and consumer goods.

O Ryong Chol, vice-minister of External Economic Relations of the DPRK, told KCNA that the fair offered an important opportunity in strengthening the friendship and economic relations among countries.

The DPRK will further expand the economic relations with other countries and develop in a sustained way the bilateral and multilateral cooperation in trade, investment, finance and other fields, he said.

Pak Ung Sik, director of the Korean International Exhibition Corporation, expressed the will to contribute to promoting the economic development through fair.

Damon Lee, an official of Singapore's Kee Wee Hup Kee Food Manufacture Ltd., said that they hope to make use of Pyongyang fairs to introduce their products as well as many other Asian delicacies.
