Anti-Japanese War Hero and Newspaper Article
Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- It has been 66 years since the demise of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

On this occasion, the Korean people recall her life as a great revolutionary who always remained loyal to President Kim Il Sung.

It was in November Juche 34 (1945), a few months after the liberation of Korea from Japan's colonial rule, that editors of the then Saegil Sinmun had an interview with her.

They asked Kim Jong Suk to tell them about the merits she had performed as a woman guerilla during the anti-Japanese guerilla war.

She answered she had nothing to say about her but much to praise the immortal feats performed by President Kim Il Sung in leading the war to victory. And she began to tell about the superb strategy and tactics employed by the President during the war.

She said what writers had to do was to give a vivid account of the great exploits of the President, adding the merits of guerillas can go down forever only in the history of their leader.

Later, Saegil Sinmun carried an article, a part of it reading as follows:

With a great ambition to liberate Korea, General Kim Il Sung swayed the vast Manchurian plain like a fierce tiger to strike terror into the hearts of the Japanese militarists, displaying his valor all over the world. He is a great revolutionary that Korea has ever had.
