Rodong Sinmun Blasts Powell's Invectives against DPRK
Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- It was recently reported that Powell, former U.S. secretary of State under the Bush Administration, blustered at a press conference that the use of nuclear weapons by the DPRK and other countries would be suicide.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday runs a commentary in this regard.

We cannot but call into question Powell who in the twilight of his life without any governmental post dared misinterpret the purpose of the DPRK's access to nukes in a bid to public opinion critical of it, the news analyst says, and goes on:

The DPRK's access to nuclear deterrence was a self-defensive decision to cope with the U.S. reckless nuclear threats to it that has lasted for several decades.

The nuclear weapons of the DPRK serve as an almighty treasured sword for protecting the peace on the Korean Peninsula and security of the Korean nation.

The DPRK had already served strong warning to the U.S. that if it ignites the second Korean war, it will be a nuclear war and the first target of the DPRK will be strongholds for aggression in the U.S. mainland, all the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces bases in the Pacific military operation theatres and the U.S. military bases in south Korea.

The warning clarifies the DPRK's stand on the use of nuclear weapons.

What Powell uttered is nothing but bluffing of the weak obsessed with nuclear phobia.

The U.S. ruling quarters and military warmongers should not swagger, breathing a sigh of relief after hearing the remarks of Powell.
