Meeting of Korean Mothers in Japan Calls for Bringing Bright Future to Children
Tokyo, September 15 (KNS-KCNA) -- The 10th meeting of mothers of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) took place at the Osaka Korean Cultural Hall on Sept. 12.

Present there were Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon who is also chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, Song Kun Hak, director of the Educational Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, chairpersons of Chongryon headquarters, principals of Korean schools, officials of the women's union headquarters and those in charge of work with Korean children of their chapters and others.

They watched a video "Looking back on days of mothers' meeting".

Kang Chu Ryon in her speech said that the meetings of Korean mothers in Japan that had regularly been held since its first meeting in Niigata in 1962 have provided an opportunity of bringing about big progress in preserving the national identity of the Korean community, helping mothers fulfill their mission and role and bringing up children and upholding and developing national education.

She called on the women's union organizations and mothers to work together for the bright future and happiness of children, true to the noble intention of the great leaders in the new century, too.

Representatives of Tokyo, Nishi Tokyo, Gunma, Aichi, Hyogo, Shiga, Okayama and Fukuoka talked about achievements and experience gained in education of children and the work of mothers' society of schools and the work of the "Society of Mums and Children".

An action program demanding the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan accept the application of aid system for Korean schools and a plan for organizing demonstrations of Korean women winning the right to national education were released.

An appeal was adopted at the meeting.
