Rodong Sinmun Discloses S. Korean Authorities' Moves to Distort History
Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- The south Korean chief executive who had set out on an overseas visit asserted at the recent re-opening ceremony of the building of the "Korean Provisional Government in Shanghai" that this was the "place that the legal tradition started" and the "base of struggle for independence." Not content with this, she also let loose a spate of nonsense that "it played a leading role in raising the hope for regaining sovereignty."

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says in a commentary in this regard:

This brought to light the south Korean authorities' nasty trick to attach "authenticity" to the regime in which sycophantic and treacherous acts have become endemic even by distorting the history of the anti-Japanese struggle of the Korean nation.

They should look back upon the crimes they committed by getting engrossed in sycophantic and treacherous acts and confrontation with compatriots, far from talking about the "authenticity".

The "authenticity" touted by the successive pro-U.S. conservative forces of south Korea is no more than a pretext to justify the U.S. occupation of south Korea, its treacherous policy and national division moves.

It is not fortuitous that those who committed themselves to serving the Japanese imperialist colonial rule and took the lead in suppressing the activists of the anti-Japanese independent movement and arresting and killing many patriots and their descendants are still strutting about in south Korea.

The south Korean authorities should know that their acts of distorting the historical truth about Korea's liberation, beautifying their treacherous nature and aiming at improving their public image will invite only ridicules and denunciation at home and abroad.
