S. Korean Authorities Urged to Take Independent Stand
Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- These days the south Korean authorities are busy with "diplomacy for unification" with outside forces, saying that "peaceful unification" is the way of "finally settling the nuclear issue and human rights issue."

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday runs an article in this regard.

The south Korean authorities' talking about "unification" is sophism calling for dependence on foreign forces and fuelling confrontation of social systems as it distorts the essence and characteristics of the issue of reunification of Korea, long-cherished desire of the Korean nation, and denies independent reunification, the article says, and goes on:

The Korean nation was separated into two by outside forces, not by internal contradiction of the nation.

The Korean nation would have already built a prosperous unified power if the outside forces had not hindered national reunification by instigating the pro-U.S. forces in south Korea.

The U.S. is the criminal that divided the land of Korea and the nation into two, imposed the disaster of war upon its people, turned south Korea into the biggest arsenal of nuclear weapons and an advanced base for invading the north and ceaselessly blackmailed and threatened the north with nuclear weapons.

Before saying about "unification" the south Korean authorities should discuss the issue of putting an end to the U.S. occupation of south Korea and domination over it and it is normal to do so.

The south Korean authorities should know that their advertisement of "unification" while building up public opinion critical of the DPRK's nuclear issue and "human rights" issue will not help them cover up their sinister intention for "unification of social systems."

Intolerable is any move breaking the hard-won phase of detente and disturbing improvement of the inter-Korean relations.
