Japanese Regime's Crackdown upon Chongryon under Fire
Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- Leading newspapers of the DPRK in their commentaries Thursday denounce the Hokkaido police authorities for searching the Hokkaido Headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and Korean primary, middle and high school in Hokkaido under the absurd pretext of "swindle" and "violation of subsidy system" on Sept. 6.

Saying such impudent and reckless action taken by the Japanese reactionaries hell-bent on suppressing Chongryon without an iota of guilty conscience about their crime-woven past can never be pardoned, Rodong Sinmun notes:

Serious are the crimes committed by Japan against Koreans in the past, but what is more serious is that it is running amuck like a guilty party filing the suit first, failing to make neither apology nor reparation, a thrice-cursed act of adding to the crimes.

The more desperately the Japanese reactionaries resort to politically-motivated crackdown upon Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, the bitterer enmity and grudge the Korean people will have against Japan to force it to pay dearly for it.

If the Japanese regime truly hopes for improvement of its relations with the DPRK, it should stop at once its reckless acts against Chongryon, well aware of the resentment running high among Koreans.

The DPRK is watching with an Argus eye the behavior of the Japanese authorities, says Minju Joson.
