Korean Folklore Museum Visited by Lots of People Since Its Renovation Three Years Ago
Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- The Korean Folklore Museum at the foot of Mt. Taesong has been visited by hundreds of thousands of people including youths, students, overseas Koreans and foreigners for the past three years since it was renovated.

The museum is a center of education in the folklore traditions. Marshal Kim Jong Un gave instructions which would serve as guidelines in carrying forward national cultural heritages when going round the Pyongyang Folklore Park just before its opening on Sept. 7, Juche 101 (2012).

The museum is also associated with the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

At the direct initiative of Kim Il Sung the museum was founded on Feb. 10, 1956 to be widely known as a center for preservation and study of cultural relics and for education in science and culture.

To carry out the last instructions of Kim Il Sung on building the museum as a Korean-style building, leader Kim Jong Il made sure that the museum was moved to the Palhae Palace in the Folklore Park to be built newly.

The museum exhibits a great number of folklore relics offering visual show of the resourcefulness and talents and the manners and customs of the Korean nation who created Taedonggang culture, one of the five world civilizations.

The visitors could see life of the preceding generations who covered the path of development while creating their own culture.
