Dialogue and negotiations between the north and the south are an important way of radically developing the present north-south relations which have been put on the track of dramatic turn from the worst catastrophe.

It is the DPRK's consistent stand to seek a negotiated solution of issues.

The Korean nation is more interested in peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula than any others.

It is not the two different nations that are standing in confrontation in the north and the south, but one homogenous nation which was deliberately split by foreign forces. If a war breaks out once again on the Korean Peninsula, it will bring more horrible disaster than what the Koreans suffered during the past Korean War. The Koreans never want to see the escalation of the north-south standoff as they have been exposed to constant danger of a war.

Dialogue and negotiations between the north and the south are in full line with the desire of the Korean nation for reconciliation and peace, not confrontation and war, as they provide a course of wiping out distrust, building confidence and achieving common prosperity.

The DPRK advanced the line of one Korea and reunification reflecting the long-cherished desire of the compatriots for national reunification and has made positive efforts to solve the matters arising in the north-south relations through dialogue and negotiations and to promote the reconciliation, unity, cooperation and exchange of the nation.

Difficulties and trials lie in our way, but we will make sincere efforts to clear hurdles and bring about a great turn and change in the north-south relations through dialogue and negotiations, the article concludes.
