S. Korean People Stage Action after 500 Days from Sewol Sinking Disaster
Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- More than 2 000 people of all social standings of the Consultative Council of Families of Victims for Probing Truth about April 16 Ferry Sewol Disaster and Building Safe Society and other organizations and from different areas in south Korea held a rally for honoring the memory of victims at Seoul Railway Station on August 29, 500 days since the occurrence of the ferry Sewol disaster.

Speakers deplored that an objective and independent investigation has not yet been made though 500 days have passed.

The "government" is busy urging the bereaved families to overcome sorrow at an early date, far from taking measures to console and prevent the recurrence of the disaster, they said.

They can no longer remain passive onlookers but carry on their actions for the dead children, they stressed.

At the end of the rally the participants marched as far as Kwanghwamun Plaza and held a memorial service there.

The bereaved family members and other citizens distributed copies of literature demanding probe into the truth.
