Minju Joson Accuses U.S. of Interfering in Issue of Korean Peninsula
Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) --Recently the north and the south of Korea had an exhaustive discussion on the issues of defusing acute military tension on the Korean Peninsula and improving the catastrophic inter-Korean relations and agreed upon the relevant measures.

Minju Joson Sunday in a commentary says the acute military tension created between the north and the south this time is attributable to the joint military exercises staged by the U.S. together with the south Korean authorities every year.

It is the Korean Peninsula where the situation remains so tense that an all-out war may break out any moment due to even a trifling accidental factor.

One side staging large-scale joint military exercises against the other side in such dangerous place is an act of leading the situation on the Korean Peninsula to an extreme phase. The DPRK, therefore, has demanded more than once an immediate halt to them.

Nevertheless, the U.S. got frantic with the maneuvers for a nuclear war against the DPRK while talking about "annual" and defensive ones".

The U.S. is paying lip-service to peace and detente on the peninsula but it is clear it will reveal its true colors once again sooner or later.

No one can vouch that the U.S. will not bring the situation on the peninsula back to the orbit of confrontation by interfering in the inter-Korean relations once again and creating complexity.

The U.S. would be well advised to refrain from hamstringing the efforts of the Korean people to terminate foreign forces' interference and improve the inter-Korean relations and reunify the country independently and peacefully in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.
