S. Korean Organizations Denounce Japan for Evading Responsibility for Sexual Slavery
Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- More than 20 organizations in south Korea including the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps issued a press release on Aug. 28 denouncing Japan for its shameless attitude of evading the responsibility for sexual slavery in the past.

The organizations charged that the demand of the victims for solution to the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army has not been met still today, the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Japan is denying the crimes including the colonial rule in the past, war of aggression and hurling of many women into shambles of war as sexual slaves and evading the responsibility for them, they held.

They lashed out at Japanese Prime Minister Abe for issuing a statement marking the 70 years since its defeat in which he didn't refer to the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army and deceived victims with his brazen-faced wordplay.

They demanded Japan recognize the state responsibility for the sexual slavery and make an official apology and reparation for the past wrongdoings.
