Korea's Liberation Day Marked Abroad
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Foreign media marked the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation from August 14 to 17.

The Cuban newspaper Granma on August 17 in an article said:

August 15 marked the 70th anniversary of Korea's the liberation from the colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists.

A new history of Korea has begun since the day.

President Kim Il Sung liberated Korea through the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

Right after the liberation he founded the Workers' Party of Korea, which organizes and guides all victories of the Korean people, on October 10, 1945.

He founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 9, 1948.

The liberation of the country was the event which brought a historic turn in carving out the destiny of the Korean people.

The Prensa Latina News Agency of Cuba in an article said that not only the Korean people but the progressives of the world significantly greeted August 15.

The Nigerian newspaper Statesman in an article titled "Noteworthy event in history of the Korean nation" said the President led the great anti-Japanese war to victory and that after the country's liberation he beat the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being "the strongest" in the world, and turned Korea into a socialist power independent, self-supporting and self-reliant in defence.

The Angolan newspaper Jornal de Angola carried an article praising the exploits of the President who beat the Japanese imperialists with superb strategy and tactics, mysterious stratagem and war methods.
