Japanese Militarists' Visit to Yasukuni Shrine Assailed
Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- The Japanese politicians paid a group visit to Yasukuni Shrine on August 15.

The visit is not just an internal issue of Japan but a sensitive political issue showing the Japanese government's stand and attitude to the history of past crimes, its stance on the abolition of those crimes and its future view on Asia, Rodong Sinmun says in a commentary Thursday.

It is quite natural that the international community expresses bitter indignation at the visit by the Japanese politicians and strongly demands a stop to it, the commentary notes, and goes on:

The attitude of the Japanese ruling quarters is shocking the people.

They, steeped in militarist idea to the marrow of their bones, are of the view and stand that there is no need to read others' face or consider others' feelings as for the visit to the shrine.

Every year the prime minister of the government sends funds for sacrificing offerings to the shrine and it has become a historical practice for the minister of Internal Affairs and the chairman for state security and other high-ranking officials of the government to visit the shrine.

Clear is what they seek through the visit.

They seek to rearm Japanese with aggression idea and realize at any cost the wild ambition for reinvasion.

For Japan launching reinvasion is as foolish an act as jumping into the abyss of self-destruction.

Just as the erstwhile fascist Japan drank a bitter cup, being hell-bent on aggression war while dreaming of becoming the "leader of the East", the present Japan dashing headlong into militarization while calling back the departed souls of "Yamato" will face the same future as was in the past.
